Sassy you Say?

I love it when a plan comes together. My plan? Teaching people how to get and stay healthy without fad diets, weight loss shakes, expensive supplements or any other such non-sense. The strategy? Teach them to eat real, whole food.

Yesterday I received this email from a friend who had loaned out my book to a co-worker. All it takes is a little bit of knowledge and the willingness to take baby steps in the journey to achieving life long health and wellness. I think this lady is well on her way, plus I can’t help but like anyone that calls me sassy ;)  Here’s what she said:

I went back through and re-read Rachel’s book. Since we are doing the biggest loser at work, I thought it would it would be extra helpful. First, I had forgotten how sassy she is, I love that. 2nd, when she talked about the average lunch of someone of who watching their weight, it was almost item for item exactly what I had been eating for a week. A turkey wrap.

I thought I was doing good, but realized where I could make better choices. It was very helpful. Please let her know that I have been reading more labels this week and I’m gonna share the book with my sister.

Thanks again

In_there_v2 (2) In There is a three-part series for middle grade full of accurate historical action while following twelve-year-old Linh through three different eras. Linh must battle the elements handed to her while trying to find the portal that will take her back home, back to real time.

In the first book of the series, Twelve-year-old Linh Roberts has an exciting and adventurous life with her undercover-cop dad. Together they solve mysteries, investigate strange phenomenon, and help those in need. But her adventurous life suddenly screeches to a halt when her dad is murdered. She moves in with her aunt and uncle, and after several months decides to continue down the sleuthing path her father put her on. Her first investigation of a house rumored to have disembodied voices within, proves to be exciting but also intimidating and downright petrifying when she is abruptly tossed through time and ends up in the middle of Hitler’s aggression-inflicted Denmark. She is quickly branded a Jew and must battle her way out before she is exterminated with her new Jewish friends. Her conflicts are many while she hides under docks, in boats, in the forest, and tries to make it to the safety of neutral Sweden, as well as finding a way back to her real home without changing or damaging the course of history.

In There, WTFA pic Book two of the series is due to be released next month! In this second part, the portal tosses Linh into 1899 where she must battle the unkind and insensitive likes of factory bosses who use child slavery and abuse to make their money. Keep your eyes open for number two of the series! It will be on the kindle shelf soon!

************************************************************************* Picture of JJ

JJ’s writing began while in high school, but didn’t take off until 2000 when she became a stay-at-home-mom and had the flexibility to put more time into it. While raising her two boys and spending time with her husband, she produced several stories. She hasn’t stopped since. Other than being a mom, writing is her favorite job. Her boys are grown and have moved out, thus giving her flexibility a bigger push in front of the computer.

JJ balances equally her family and her narratives. Now, she is on the third manuscript of her IN THERE series, revising a book she wrote several years ago to make it into a series, revising a western manuscript, and has begun a western romance which will be none like you’ve ever read.

“Soaks up history like a sponge” is an understatement for JJ. History is her forte, which anyone reading just one of her books can tell. While she writes fiction, all of her books are historically based with accurate events. She has no problem delving for a week into research just to find the answer to one question.

When dragged away from her laptop, JJ loves all things outdoors, from working in her gardens to camping and fishing. Her friends also take a priority on her list, and she travels with them to historic towns to get ideas for her next written offering.

Any reader will find out how passionate she is about writing. Check out all her books for a historic ride through time. JJ writes mostly historic mysteries, but writes for most age groups. There’s a ride for everyone.
