The Author’s Guild has officially weighed in on the big Amazon/Hachette argument/dispute/fiasco. The Guild says that the dispute should end, so that, “a healthy ecosystem where all writers, both traditionally and independently published, can thrive.” I heartily agree. It’s high time both sides came to some kind of agreement.
Interestingly, the Guild as much as admits that traditional publishers have not treated authors fairly when it came to e-book royalties, a rather frank admission to say the least. If any good comes out when this circus finally closes, I hope it’s that traditional publishers treat e-books with more respect. As well as the authors who write them.
