Kindle Unlimited bad?

Mark Coker, the founder and owner of the great Indie site Smashwords,  has written an insightful piece about Amazon’s new Kindle Unlimited e-book service.
He reiterates what I, and many others, dislike about Amazon’s KDP Select. That it’s exclusive.  If you want in on the benefits of the service,  you can’t put your books on any other e-book service.
And if you want your book listed in the new Unlimited service, you have to be enrolled in KDP Select.
It’s more important than ever now for independent authors to get their work out on as many platforms, and retail outlets as possible.
Everyone’s experience is different of course, but when I tried KDP for my book Comes a Dark Heir, I didn’t see any significant increase in sales. I’m as beginning and unknown as they come. For many like me, Select is just too limiting.
