Writing, Etc…

Hey everybody, thanx for stopping by today, or this morning, or evening, or whatever! I realize it’s been a while since I posted here, but rest assured I’ve been busy in that time. How busy? Well, I have the FIRST draft of PART ONE of the next book in the Aeonith series down. All I have to do now is second draft and rewrites for part one, outline, and write part two, polish it up, and I’ll be finished! Ah, it sounds so simple when I put it that way, were that it was so! But nay, writing must be a long, grueling, and time-consuming process. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Things are shaping up for the story nicely, Tscon Lightbringer does his cameo early in the script, he had to get back the Order to do his scenes with Naeid. Oops let something slip there didn’t I? O well, more on that later. I can’t say if there are any other characters from the Lightbringer series in this story, but if you’ve been reading the Tales of Aeonith flash fiction site, you’ll see a character there that has a part in the story as well.

I don’t have too much else at this point, me and the lovely wife watched Skyfall recently. A definite change of tone from most of the Bond series, still well worth the rent though. Game of Thrones season Three. Course I know what happens, cause I’ve read the books. Don’t worry I won’t spoil any plot points for you, but if you’ve been into the first two seasons, you’re going to find this one has the most twists and turns. I can remember reading that when George Martin first wrote those books, he’d only envisioned three books, and you can certainly see where this third book would have culminated in an end if he hadn’t expanded the story. I’m glad he did, the books have been good reads, although, I’ll have to admit that Books Four and Five have been a bit slower as far as plot development are concerned. Kind of makes me nervous for the longevity of the TV series, but we’ll see. Still, very good on the whole. With any luck at all, I’ll reach his level of storytelling one day. Luck and some prayers.

Well, that’s it for now. I’ve put up a new story on Tales of Aeonith, so hop on over and check it out! Thanx so much for reading!

Greetings friends and readers, so good to have you back again. Thanks for stopping by. It’s been a busy week for me, working, writing, and so forth. The writing’s been rewarding though, I’m making real progress on the next Aeonith novel. This one’s going to turn out to be a big one, with lots of story that covers tons of ground, and includes more than five times as many characters as all three of the Lightbringer stories put together! Whew that’s alot of folks, but they’re all important to the story. This next story will introduce much more of the world of Aeonith, it’s people and its history. There’s still alot of work to do on it, so I don’t have any idea when it’ll be ready.

As per the title of this post, I’d like to offer a sincere thank you. One goes out to my readers of course, but the main recipients of this particular gratitude goes out to my family, my dear wife and children. As anyone who’s ever attempted to write a piece of fiction can attest, it requires time, more than anything else. And for a project as big as a novel, the writing will take a whole mess of it! George Martin, for instance, the writer of A Song of Ice and Fire, has taken an average of four years to write each of his novels. Lord of the Rings took Tolkien twelve years. Granted, these works are all far larger than anything I’ve yet attempted, but it gives you an idea of how long a novel can take. Add to that the problem trying to carry a full-time job to support a family, along with maintaining a domicile, and you can see where one’s time can become a valuable commodity. Now try adding two online college courses on top of that, and you’ve pretty well got my current life’s schedule. My wonderful wife and children have already generously sacrificed many hours to my writing that they could otherwise be spending with me, and I love and adore them for it. One day(soon I would hope, if I can finish my manuscript and sell it quickly) the writing will be supporting these wonderful people who spend their lives with me locked up writing stories, but for now I’m firmly divided between all these varying activities. I’d just like to give these three people who make my life complete an acknowledgement for the sacrifice they’re making. I love all three of them, and thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

Speaking of the writing, there’s a new picture on the website, as well as a new story on Tales of Aeonith! Be sure to jump on over and check them out!

Well, that’s it for now, until next time, Thanks for reading!!

Tales of Aeonith

Hullo there friends and readers! Nice to have you all here again. Today I’m announcing a new site. Tales of Aeonith should be online by the time you read this. This site will be the home for short stories set in the world of Aeonith. When I say short, I mean very short, between five hundred and a thousand words. The stories will fall into a new term of fiction known as flash fiction.

A quick look-up on google will show you that the term flash fiction has only been around a few years, although the medium itself has been around far longer. These short, short stories seem a perfect fit for the modern age. With all our modern devices around, we often find ourselves with a few minutes to spare here and there. Most everyone now can carry the internet around with them. Wouldn’t it be great if we could find a site to read a quick story that began and ended in the time it took to wait on an appointment, or a lunch or dinner companion to arrive, etc..? That’s where Tales of Aeonith comes in!

Most of the stories posted here will fit into the category described above, although at times a story will be broken into two or three parts. When that happens it will always be noted as such, and the previous installments will always be available to read, so don’t worry about coming in halfway through. It does bear mentioning that with this kind of fiction, character descriptions and other staples of the fiction genre are shortened(or left out) in favor of ‘moving things along’, as it were. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new site, feel free to leave any comments you have here or on the new site. As always, thanks for reading, take care and God bless!

See You in the Future
